If you have been charged with a crime, are representing yourself, and have been declared indigent, you can access funds to aid in your defense. These funds can be used to cover due process services and costs. Covered services and costs can include, court reporting and transcription costs, interpreters and translators, expert witnesses, mental health professionals and mitigation specialists, travel costs for witness, and private investigator services. These funds are available through the Justice Administrative Commission (JAC).
